Microsoft Strikes Shwe Taung Deal

Microsoft
Local conglomerate Shwe Taung Group said it will invest in Microsoft solutions to equip its employees with a technology infrastructure to make them perform with higher efficiency, productivity and security.
The corporation’s digital transformation starts with Microsoft Enterprise Agreement that includes Core Client Access License (CAL), Windows 10 Enterprise and Office 2016 Professional.

The deal will give Shwe Taung access to a range of the latest software and services to improve collaboration and productivity across the organisation, the companies said in a statement.
With up-to-date software, STG also gets assurance of software updates, Microsoft said.
Aung Zaw Naing, group chief executive officer, Shwe Taung Group, said: “With Microsoft as our technology partner, we would be able to leverage on a better technological platform to work with higher efficiency, productivity and security. This allows us to better serve the needs of our stakeholders.”
“As a leading Myanmar conglomerate, we aim to set the benchmark for good corporate citizenship in the country and create a positive influence on our stakeholders in our supply chain. We hope our partnership with Microsoft will further encourage our suppliers and contractors to adopt higher standards of business practices,” he added.
This is the second deal the US tech giant has bagged in Myanmar. In September another local conglomerate Kanbawza (KBZ) Group said it will modernise its IT infrastructure with Microsoft solutions in a bid to enhance productivity and improve customer service.
Michelle Simmons, general manager, Southeast Asia New Markets, Microsoft Asia Pacific, said: “As the Myanmar economy opens up, resulting in vast potential to be explored across various industries, organisations need to think two steps ahead and embrace latest technologies to gain a competitive edge as well as enable their employees to better serve their customers.”
